Celebrating her birthday, Ms. Mullins was having some fun in the Science Lab after school today.
The Doomsday Dance is happening with the Disco Ball providing a great atmosphere in the band room. The students are dancing up a storm!

In PHL action today the Mustangs upset 2nd place Batman with an impressive performance. The PHL will take a break over the Winter Break with action resuming in the New Year.

Tomorrow we start with our annual Pancake Breakfast starting at 8:00 am. The PHSS Christmas Talent Show will happen at 2:00 pm. Parents and friends are welcome to join us for this pre-Christmas tradition.

The Jingle Bell Mystery
Ms. Sheppard's Drama class presented a Christmas play titled,"The Jingle Bell Mystery." The students did a great job and show was appreciated by all in attendance, including SD 46 Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Patrick Bocking. It is great to see that our students are getting support from the local school community, as well as the broader community.
Thank you to Ms. Sheppard and her students for the great evening of entertainment!
Christmas Concert: PHSS Band
Ms. Brunson did a fantastic job getting the band ready for last night's Christmas concert. Despite the small size of the senior band , they played with a full sound that brought smiles to the audience in attendance. Congratulations on a great performance!

Thanks for organizing the PHSS Secret Santa Teaguen! It was a huge success. Many of our students are getting into the spirit of Christmas. It was also Ugly Sweater Day-- I will try to post some of these pictures later.

Hockey & Hot Rods
The PHL is in full swing with games being played at lunch Monday to Thursday.
Dave Marshal, of the Sunshine Coast Drag Racing Association, stopped by to present Mr. Jay Walls an award of recognition for the great job he does promoting drag racing on the Sunshine Coast. Mr. Walls was instrumental in helping rebuild a dragster, which was sold as a fundraiser for ESS. There is a plan to do something similar here at PHSS. Great job Mr. Walls!!!

Santa, Dishwasher & Worms
Mr. Stoddart tried to convince Santa that he has been "nice" this year. Ho Ho Ho! Santa stopped by PHSS for a photo opportunity, as he will be busy taking care of his reindeer and sleigh next week so he won't be able to make it next week.
We finally have our new dishwasher installed in the Mezz kitchen-- thanks to the SD 46 maintenance crew (Jim, Warren & Logan) who made this happen.
Lastly, I was covering a Grade 11 biology class this morning and the students were finishing up some experiments on worms. I didn't know that worms have 5 hearts!
Have a good day.

Media Arts & the PHL
I have posted a photograph of one of our grade 10 Media Arts students-- the special effects are really interesting. The other photo shows two of our PHL (Pender Hockey League) teams going head to head in a lunch time game. Our PHL season is providing an excellent opportunity for our students and staff to have fun and get some exercise in this intramural program. We have 6 teams in this year's league.
