Provincial Pro-D Day Today

I am currently attending the SD46 CUPE Pro-D event. SD 46 Superintendent, Patrick Bocking, spoke to the audience and shared his commitment to ensure that the health and well-being of all of the SD 46 employees continues. He mentioned that a Joint District Health & Safety Committee would be resurrected, with CUPE playing an important role on the committee. Health and Wellness is the theme of the day. I trust that everyone will have an enjoyable weekend. Enjoy your family time. Mr.H PS. The PHSS PAC Blog is up and running. The Minutes of the last meeting will be posted shortly.

Junior Rugby

The boys had some good weather for practice today. It is nice to see an improved turnout today. Coach Mike indicated that they are practicing hard with the intention of learning the game. It is a challenge to get junior rugby matches, so practices are a way to develop skills. As you probably know, tomorrow is a provincial Pro-D Day. Many teachers and principals will be heading off the coast to participate in a variety of Pro-D activities. Many of us will spend some time at Chatelech, at a CUPE sponsored event on the Sunshine Coast. Have a great evening everyone. Mr. H

PAC Meeting

We had a reasonable turnout for our PAC Meeting last evening. There was a discussion about earthquake preparedness, which led to a motion to restock the Earthquake Bin with water and granola bars. Since the DPAC will be looking at this issue, our PAC made a decision to hold off on other purchases for the Earthquake kit. A copy of the PHSS PAC Constitution and Bylaws was distributed. I am hoping to help the PAC set up a blog so we can post the constitution and bylaws, along with PAC Minutes and other pertinent information. I included a report which will be included in the PAC Minutes. Hopefully I can help to make the PAC Blog a reality. Until later. Mr. H

Beautiful Day on the Sunshine Coast

It has been a beautiful day today. We were blessed with some great weather which made for nicer weather for runs in PE. I took this picture of Mr. Mocellin's Grade 10 PE class running on the field this morning.
Hopefully the great weather will continue throughout the weekend. Just a reminder that next Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm we will be having our next PAC Meeting and there is a Provincial Pro-D Day next Friday. Enjoy your weekend. Mr. H
